My passion for film began in the summer of 2017. I had just joined my local theatre group, and over the course of the five-day writing and filming process, I truly delved into the art of film.
The end product was a collaborative process, and over this, I explored acting for film and roles such as a DOP, helping with sound, and also Assistant Directing. Subsequently, over the next 5 years, every Saturday, I have been working on my film and television skills with hands-on experience and workshops with industry professionals such as Pauline Quirke and Ben Hunte.
Most notably, my all-time favourite film that I have made to this date is 'It Might Be Time'. In this, I focused on experimenting with handheld filming, camera movement, and diverse focusing. I learned a lot over this process, and with the fantastic editing, I believe that we created a very good film.
Most recently, I have begun studying Film Studies A level at my local Sixth Form alongside Music Technology and Business Studies.
My acting experiences range from a number of stage plays, musicals, and concerts with theatre groups around my local area. Some of these include Oliver, Billy Elliot, Wizard of Oz, Wuthering Heights, and Troubles A Brewin' (performed at Her Majesty's Theatre in which I played the lead).
I am currently working on FAME! The Musical, Ben Elton's Silly Cow, and a short film, written by Lewis Burn. This follows the life of a schizophrenic man who struggles to overcome the mental agony of living a dual persona. This is still in the planning stages, but production should be up and running in the near future.
I have personally written screenplays myself, and I also compose music for my short films.
I would like to pursue a career in acting for film or a career in directorship. I hope that by accumulating skills and attributes over the next few years by making short films, I can hopefully make my dream a reality by working in the film industry.
